On December 13th, 2023 Felix School in Bratislava, hosted the Multiplier Event for the Erasmus+ Active project. The event aimed to explain to parents and other stakeholders the nature of the project, the key outputs and results and showcase some of the activities carried out by teachers and students.
It was explained that the activities carried out at Felix were based on the content of the Active Toolkits and focussed of raising students’ awareness of misinformation, disinformation and fake news that often appears in mainstream and social media and how such content can be more easily recognised. A range of classroom activities were then presented which were designed to provide students with the tools necessary to fact check suspicious content.
The presentation further emphasised the need to raise media literacy amongst young people so as to enable them to critically evaluate the information they encounter.
The Multiplier Event concluded with a documentary made by students which required them to investigate a number of conspiracy theories; assess the validity of such theories and report their findings.
